The Dorian
As Calgary’s first and only Michelin Key hotel, The Dorian isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to be immersed. Inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray, the hotel’s design language is both seductive and sophisticated, combining visual storytelling with layered luxury. From velvet textures to literary references, every corner of the hotel is part of a narrative.
Bujou Studios was brought in during The Dorian’s opening launch period to produce a suite of editorial content that would reflect its atmosphere and elevate its marketing materials. Our production focused on curating a visual library that felt cinematic and tactile — content that matched the richness of the space, down to the smallest detail. The final product? A collection of images that blurred the line between hospitality and art direction, bringing The Dorian’s literary soul to life.

What We Did
The Dorian came to Bujou for creative production support as it prepared to enter the market as one of Calgary’s most distinctive hospitality offerings. Our mandate was to translate the mood and story of the space into visual content that could support their brand at launch — elegant, high-impact imagery for use across print, digital, and press. The interior spaces already told a story. Our job was to make that story felt. We approached the project with a strong editorial lens, directing photography that highlighted the tactile elements of the design — layered fabrics, curated art, thoughtful contrasts. From the moody lighting of the guest suites to the sophisticated whimsy of The Wilde, The Dorian’s signature restaurant, every shot was composed to feel like a scene from a storybook set in a modern-day city. Our production team treated the hotel not as a subject, but as a character — one with depth, charm, and a bit of a secret. The result was an asset library that elevated the brand’s visual identity and helped set the tone for its public debut.
The Results
Creative, polished, and always intentional — Bujou builds content that’s as layered as the brands we work with. For The Dorian, we didn’t just capture a space. We translated an atmosphere into imagery that moved.
For brands looking to stand out in hospitality or design-forward industries, this project proves the value of creative that feels editorial — not commercial. The Dorian had a story. We made sure it was seen.
